Helen Wang is a UK-based translator bringing Chinese children’s books into English. Her translations include middle-grade/YA novels – Cao Wenxuan’s Bronze and Sunflower and Dragonfly Eyes, Shen Shixi’s Jackal and Wolf, Lin Man-chiu’s The Ventriloquist’s Daughter, and Qin Wenjun’s Lessons in Happiness – and numerous picture books. In 2017 she won the Marsh Award for Children’s Literature in Translation (UK), and a Chen Bochui Special Award (China). She works collaboratively with Paper Republic, the Leeds Centre for New Chinese Writing, World Kid Lit, Global Literature in Libraries, and in 2016 founded Chinese Books for Young Readers with Minjie Chen (USA) and Anna Gustaffson Chen (Sweden).
